PROVINCE ANNOUNCES FORT WHYTE BYELECTION SET FOR SEPT. 4
The Fort Whyte constituency seat has been vacant since July 30 following the resignation of former leader of the official opposition Hugh McFadyen.
The necessary documents providing for the Sept. 4 byelection were signed and issued today.
Nominations in the constituency will officially close on Aug. 20 and advance polls in both will be open from Aug. 25 to Sept. 1. On voting day, polls will remain open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There are currently 37 New Democrats, 18 Progressive Conservatives, one Liberal and one vacant seat in the Manitoba legislature.
