Hello all,
I am writing to you requesting your assistance in helping to get the word out on our upcoming 25th Anniversary Gala. This is a really important event for our agency and we are very excited to have Wilma Derksen speaking to our guests that evening. Candace’s story is one that most adult Winnipeggers remember so we are really hoping that the community will come out to support the agency that came out of her tragedy and to help us in commemorating her memory. We are hoping that Manitobans will come out to show their appreciation to Wilma and her family for having the courage and determination to create Child Find Manitoba in the midst of the greatest personal tragedy imaginable. Because of Candace and her family, Manitoban children are safer. Over the past 25 years, Child Find Manitoba has provided quality programs and services to hundreds of thousands of Manitobans. Today, each and every school aged child receives programming and materials from our organization. This is because of Candace. Candace changed our community in so many ways.
We hope you consider joining us in this milestone 25th anniversary celebration of something positive that was born out of her tragedy. We ask you to share this email with your personal and professional contacts, not only as a way of helping us to inform the public about this event but also as a way to remember Candace and what she has accomplished.

Twenty-five years ago, following the disappearance and subsequent murder of Winnipeg teen Candace Derksen, a group of Manitobans came together to fill a void in the services available in our province for families of missing children.
Committed to ensuring families would have the help they'd need in the event their child went missing, those dedicated individuals established Child Find Manitoba. Never could they have imagined what their concern for their community and hard work would become.
Please join us on April 23, 2010 for a Gala Night to remember and relive the amazing journey Child Find Manitoba has been on for the last quarter century.

Although Child Find Manitoba was born from tragedy, it exists today to prevent such heartbreak from happening to another family. We invite you to be a part of an important celebration recognizing everyone who has played a part in our creation, our growth and our accomplishments. We invite you on April 23, 2010, to attend a very special 25th Anniversary Gala.
Join fellow supporters for an enjoyable evening filled with fabulous food, exciting silent and live auctions, and dance the night away to the musical stylings of the Danny Kramer Band. Funds raised by this event will benefit the Child Find Manitoba program.
