PRIDE WINNIPEG 2009 Bigger than Ever

At the bottom of the stairs of the Legislative Building, The Rainbow Harmony Project, Winnipeg’s GBLTT choir wowed the crowd of hundreds of enthusiastic spectators, many with their dogs decorated in rainbow collars, with vibrant, funny, serious and sad songs in celebration of Pride Winnipeg’s Annual Parade. This year’s Pride theme was “Grow with Us”
The Harmony Project Choir composed on Gays, Bisexuals Lesbians, Transgender and Two Spirited peoples celebrated it’s 10th anniversary this year.
“When I think about the quality and the caliber of our performances I feel that we have achieved something that we can all be very proud of. Our influence in the GLBTT community and in the larger community is being felt. We are making a difference. We are making a positive impact on the lives of countless people. From our present success I consider the future of The Rainbow Harmony Project and I believe that our future is bright,” wrote Darrin Jolicoeur, RHP president
And the future also looks bright for the Annual Winnipeg Pride March which will be moving to the Forks next year to accommodate its growth. This year’s Pride march is the biggest march ever and next year organizers hoped that it will be bigger still.
