BJORNSON HONOURS BRANDON COMPANY WITH CENTURY BUSINESS RECOGNITION AWARD

BRANDON-Christie’s Office Plus was presented with a Century Business Recognition Award for operating in Manitoba for more than 100 years by Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade Minister Peter Bjornson at the Brandon Chamber of Commerce Small Business Week kickoff luncheon today.
“Christie’s was founded in 1881 and has expanded over the years,” said Bjornson. “It has been said that, in the early years of its existence, virtually every school textbook in western Canada passed through Christie’s. This company is another great example of a Manitoba business that has shown dedication to the community it serves and to providing business excellence.”
“It is a great honour to be acknowledged for more than 100 years of service to the community of Brandon and province of Manitoba,” said Don Green, owner and general manager, Christie’s Office Plus. “Over the years, our great staff has provided industry expertise and support to thousands of clients.”
The province created the award to recognize and celebrate the long-term economic contributions of Manitoba’s dedicated entrepreneurs and business owners.
To be eligible for the Manitoba Century Business Recognition Award Program, a business must have a registered office in Manitoba and have operated in the province for a minimum of 100 years. Applications can be prepared and submitted by company employees, officers or owners and must include proof of the date established.
Application forms and complete information on the award program can be obtained by contacting the Small Business Development Branch at 1-800-665-2019 (toll-free) or by visiting www.gov.mb.ca/ctt/busdev/smbus/index.html.
