Hello,
This World Refugee Day you are invited to a dinner in support of early childhood education in the world’s largest refugee camp in Dadaab, Kenya. Humankind International (www.humankindinternationalinc.org or www.facebook.com/HumankindInternational) will be holding its first ever fundraising and awareness dinner, with CBC’s Terry MacLeod as the MC.
Our first project at Humankind is to build and run an Early Childhood Education Centre for children living in and around the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya. These children are mostly from Somali families who were forced to flee due to war and persecution and now live in overcrowded, poverty stricken refugee camps with few services. At the moment, these children only start school around 7 or 8 years old and in response to the community-identified needs, we want to support them in providing early childhood and kindergarten type programming to children between 5-8 years old.
Join us as we bring together a diverse community to be inspired for a great cause. The event will include music, dinner, performances, a cash bar, raffle prizes (including four Jets tickets!), stories of refugee life in Dadaab and a brief presentation by Muuxi Adam, one of Humankind International founding members,
