NEW WEBSITE ALLOWS MANITOBANS TO NOTIFY MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONS OF ADDRESS CHANGES

Manitobans who are in the process of moving, or who are planning a move within the province in the future, can take advantage of a new website that will allow them to notify multiple organizations of an address change with just the click of a mouse, Innovation, Energy and Mines Minister Dave Chomiak announced today.
“The idea behind Manitoba Address Change is to provide users with a simple solution for communicating a change of address to organizations and companies that need the information to continue services to their clients,” said Chomiak.  “Anyone who has been through a move knows how time consuming making an address change can be.  This new website will help speed up that process and make it easier.”
Families can access this service if they are moving to another residence located within the province or if they are moving into the province.  The site is safe, secure and protects personal information supplied to the various organizations, said the minister.
Users of the site simply select the organizations they would like to notify of an address change and fill out the appropriate information required for each organization.  They then submit the form and it is secured for access by each organization to process.
Organizations currently participating in the program include:
  • Manitoba Hydro;
  • Water and Waste, City of Winnipeg;
  • Manitoba Health; and
  • Shaw Communications.
“The best thing about this website is it’s always open for business; it can be accessed outside of normal business hours, which is a great convenience for families,” Chomiak added.
This is a pilot project, with plans to expand the service to include additional Crown corporations, other municipal governments and non-government entities in the future.
The site is located at www.manitobaaddresschange.ca/.
