Clinic Offers Evening, Saturday Hours for Treatment of Minor Health Issues: Oswald
SELKIRK—Residents of Selkirk have a new option when it comes to health-care services, as Manitoba’s third new QuickCare Clinic has officially opened in the Selkirk Crossing Shopping Centre, to serve patients in Selkirk and surrounding areas, Health Minister Theresa Oswald announced here today.
“The new and innovative QuickCare Clinic offers an option for patients with minor health issues who may not be able to get in to see their family doctor and who know the emergency room is not an appropriate destination,” said Oswald.
The Selkirk QuickCare Clinic is staffed with nurse practitioners and registered nurses who can diagnose and treat minor health issues. Services are available on a walk-in basis or by appointment for a variety of health issues including:
Initial hours at the Selkirk QuickCare Clinic will be Monday to Friday, noon to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The clinic will be closed on Sundays. Hours of operation will be extended once staff recruitment is complete, the minister said.
Planning and development of other QuickCare Clinics are underway including five in Winnipeg: St. Boniface, St. Vital, Seven Oaks, Southdale and west Winnipeg.

- bumps, bruises or sprains;
- rashes, eczema, infected cuts or minor sores;
- sore throats, earaches, colds and flu, coughs, hay fever or nose bleeds;
- immunizations;
- sore eyes with redness or infection;
- stomach pain, diarrhea and vomiting, urinary infections or indigestion;
- headaches, back or neck pain;
- birth control or breast feeding; and
- stress or anxiety.
